INSTALLATION MANUAL
FOR A BRAVO CONV=RETROFIT-PLATE KIT
INSTALLING CONTRACTOR MUST BE BRAVO CERTIFIED TO INSTALL
THIS PRODUCT AND AUTHORIZED IN WRITING BY BRAVO PER THE
INSTRUCTIONS OUTLINED IN " Bravo_CONV_ Retrofit_ Plan _ R1 . pdf "
ALL DOCUMENTS FOUNDAT www . sbravo . com / conv
The following is a Bravo Factory -Approved procedure for the State Approved UDSCCS Bravo CONV
B2000 Dispenser Conversion Frame . This retrofit procedure is necessary when the existing conduits are
protruding through the concrete on the exterior of the existing UDC .
NOTE : The drainage panels ( downward - angled steel panels ) of the conversion frame that channels any
leaking fuel to the UDC ' s interior do not have the openings for the conduits pre -cut by the factory.
A Bravo -Certified contractor is required to cut openings in these panels in the field . Please review the
following guidelines .
CRITICAL CONTACT RULE : You must maintain a minimum of
one full inch ( 1 " ) of contact between the FRP retrofit plate and the steel
louvers on all edges except the edge nearest the center of the UDC .
STEP 1 ) You must make the openings that you cut as small as possible in diameter. Depending
on the situation , E -Y ' s or other threaded components will require larger diameter holes to be cut in the
frame . Precisely measure the electrical components that must protrude through the frame and cut out
each shape as closely as possible .
STEP 2 ) When the holes have been made for all conduit protrusions , dry-fit the modified
conversion frame and re - cut as necessary.
STEP 3 ) Then drill a hole in the FRP plate as close to the conduit diameter as possible , for each
location . Plan your hole saw cuts so that they are well spaced and all inside the FRP plate . If conduits
are too close together, you may cut a single hole/window for multiple conduits to protrude through .
STEP 4 ) Then cut the FRP plate in half centered as much as possible along the holes you have
made in it . Dry fit this retrofit plate to the conduits and check for proper fit and contact per the
CRITICAL CONTACT RULE . Re - cut and dry-fit the FRP plate as necessary until it' s edges can meet
without issue and the plate sits squarely flat against the remainder of the steel louvers .
STEP 5 ) Prepare all contact surfaces that will be bonded together by abrading them by hand with
low-grit sandpaper. Make sure to rough up the epoxy- coated steel louvers for maximum bond
strength .
1 ii -CONV- Retrofit- Plate - 12B - 9/24/2012
