CA 95202-0388 <br /> Subject: Established Local Enforcement Agency Inspection Frequency for Asbestos Containing <br /> Waste (ACW) Units at Solid Waste Facilities. <br /> Dear Mr.. Huggins: <br /> This letter is a follow-up to the ACW Authorization Program for your Local Enforcement <br /> Agency. We are requesting written documentation of your established ACW Unit inspection <br /> frequency as described in your Enforcement Program.Plan (EPP). This information will be used <br /> to update our public records and to assist in our required evaluations. <br /> For your information the following operational criteria have and may be used in establishing <br /> ACW Unit inspection frequency: <br /> 1) The existence of public access to the landfill. <br /> 2) The frequency of receipt of ACW at the facility (loads per: hour, day, week, month, etc.) <br /> 3) ACW Unit self-inspection frequency of Permitted Active Landfill established by <br /> owner/operator (14 CCR 17897.20). <br /> 4) The use of alternative cover frequency prescribed by Local Enforcement Agency and the <br /> facility has no public access (14 CCR 18897.18(h)). <br /> 5) Other site-specific criteria/conditions developed and approved by the Local Enforcement <br /> Agency. <br /> At your earliest convenience please submit in writing, your established ACW Unit inspection <br /> frequency for each ACW Unit at facilities in your jurisdiction as daily, weekly, monthly, etc. If <br /> you have any questions please contact Paulino Luna at (91.6) 255-3882 or Skip Amerine at (916) <br /> 255-1197. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> Julie Nauman <br /> Deputy Director <br /> Permitting and Enforcement Division <br /> California Environmental Protection Agency <br /> Printed on Recycled Paper <br />
