ICNEXUS
ENGINEERING
corrosion rate of brass was significantly higher when using the GA9058 additive vs . the
existing 9888 additive. Although higher than 9888 corrosion rate, the rate of corrosion of
brass with GA9058 was calculated to be about 0 . 2 MPY (mill per year), well below the
acceptable corrosion rate of 1 MPY (assuming best practice of inspection and
maintenance of tank system ) .
Nexus did not verify the condition of existing equipment including the tank Itself and any
associated components . The drawings , chemical composition data , and information on
the components within the system were provided to Nexus by Lubrizol . It is Nexus' expert
opinion that the change in chemical additive from ULTRAZOL 9888 to ULTRAZOL
GA9058 will not increase the risk of primary component failure of the components
assessed as outlined in this letter.
Sincerely,
}
81 /.23 " l ?N
 yf , 111P4 q
Amy Lee , M .
