VES E R IS <br />Contingency Plan <br />Section 3 — Effective Date Supersedes Page <br />Branch Safety Organization 9/20/2021 New 3-5 <br />Ensure that all fire/spill response team members are familiar with the <br />hazards of the products we handle, and the potential emergencies <br />related to these products. <br />Ensure that fire/spill response team members understand that they are <br />not trained or equipped to handle a major fire. They must know their limits <br />and always stay within their capabilities. <br />Ensure that all equipment identified in the plan for use by the fire/spill <br />response team is on hand, is in operating condition and is specifically <br />marked and set aside for use by the fire/spill response team as <br />applicable. <br />He/she will coordinate members of the fire/spill team(s) during an <br />emergency. <br />VI. Assembly Point Leader(s) <br />Assembly Point Leader(s) will be identified for all areas of a branch -- i.e., <br />the office, the warehouse, and the repack areas. It is their responsibility to: <br />Turn off the main electrical power switch in the building for which they <br />have responsibility. <br />Close doors and windows if there is time to do so safely. <br />Proceed directly to the assembly area(s) as outlined in the evacuation plan. <br />Account for all personnel assigned to their area and report any <br />absences to the Emergency Coordinator. Ensure contractors onsite <br />are accounted for. <br />Keep personnel in assembly area calm and together. <br />F Coordinate with the First Aid Team Leader(s) and the Emergency <br />Coordinator as appropriate.
