VES RIS <br />Contingency Plan <br />Section 3 — Effective Date Supersedes Page <br />Branch Safety Organization 9/20/2021 New 3-4 <br />2. In the event of imminent or actual emergency, the Emergency <br />Coordinator must implement the plan as follows: <br />Notify all concerned of the emergency situation including plant <br />personnel, contractors onsite and neighbors as applicable. <br />Analyze the emergency situation. <br />Initiate the appropriate corrective action. <br />Secure the emergency scene. <br />Clean-up the emergency scene. <br />Working with Regional Operations staff, file reports with <br />company and regulatory agencies as appropriate and required. <br />Ill. Alternate Emergency Coordinator(s) <br />Anyone assigned the duty of Alternate Emergency Coordinator shall be <br />responsible for carrying out the duties of the Emergency Coordinator in his/her <br />absence. The Alternate Emergency Coordinator(s) must be fully aware of the <br />procedures and requirements of this plan. <br />IV. First Aid Team Leader(s) <br />It is the responsibility of the First Aid Team Leader(s), with the assistance and <br />direction of the Emergency Coordinator, to insure that all personnel assigned <br />the responsibility as a First Aid Team member are familiar with their <br />responsibilities under this plan. <br />He/she will ensure that all equipment used by the First Aid Team is on <br />hand, in operating condition and specifically identified and set aside for <br />use by the First Aid Team. <br />He/she will coordinate First Aid Team(s) during emergencies. <br />He/she will assist personnel that are trained in first aid and maintain an <br />up-to-date knowledge of first aid equipment and techniques. <br />V. Fire/Spill Response Team Leader(s) <br />It is the responsibility of the Fire/Spill Response Team Leader(s), with <br />assistance and direction from the Emergency Coordinator, to ensure that all <br />personnel with fire and spill control responsibilities are familiar with their <br />function under this plan.
