The
percolation test hole for this study was hand excavated with a post-hole shovel and
hand auger to a diameter of 6-inches and depth 36 inches below existing ground surface
(begs). The exploration boring (B-1) was excavated using 6-inch flight auger and a truck
mounted drill rig. Soils were logged in the field by a NATS Field Geologist and were
classified according to the Unified Soil Classification System (ASTM D2487) based on
field testing, and, visual observations.
Soils encountered within the test hole (P-1) are described as dark brown, dry, medium
plastic clay, from ground surface to 2.5 ft depth (cemented from 2.0-2.5 ft) and brown,
fine gravelly clay (CL) from 2.5 to 3.5 ft depth. The boring log (B-1) for the exploratory
hole is included within Appendix-A, attached.
Presaturation of the test hole was made by adding 12-inches of water to the test-hole
on December 20, 2022 approximately 24 hours in advance of the test, and, no water
4713 ENTERPRISE WAY * SUITE 4 * iMODESTO * CALIFORNIA * 95356 * 209-545-1108
