(Live Oak) was contracted by Angela Ferreira to
conduct a Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study for the property located at
1153 South Golden Gate Avenue, Stockton, California.
The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study are combined under this report
cover and presented as two sections of this report. The formatting of the report has
been designed to follow the recommendations of the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil Suitability Study
Requirements Checklist and Nitrate Loading Study Requirements Checklist.
The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study were conducted to determine
whether the soils are suitable for use with a septic system, as well as to estimate if the
use of septic systems will impact ground water quality. The study was performed
according to the requirements of Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County
Development code.
Proposed Development
Ms. Ferreira proposes to construct a second home on the Site.
Site Description
The Site is defined as Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) 157-130-34, approximately
0.53 acre in size. It is located at 1153 South Golden Gate Avenue, Stockton, California
(Plate 1).
A single-family residence and several sheds and shade structures are currently located
on the Site. The remainder of the Site is open or landscaped. A domestic well supplies
water to the house (Plate 2).
The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic
map, is approximately 28 feet above mean sea level. The Site is relatively flat (Plate 3).
According to the San Joaquin County District Viewer (sjmap.org), the Site is zoned R-L,
Low-Density Residential. The San Joaquin County Community Development
Department states that this zoning designation "is intended to provide for
neighborhoods consisting of detached, single family residences located within or
immediately adjacent to population centers which have public services."
LOGE 2325 Page 1
