All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br /> #4 Safety Equipment MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The pool enclosure lacks both the life hook and the life ring. Immediately provide both a life hood <br />(permanently attached to a 12' long pole) and a life ring with a throw rope or face closure. <br />Corrected on site: Two certified lifeguards are present at the pool and will be on site until approximately 1:30pm. If the <br />lifeguards leave and the safety equipment is not on site, the pool must close. (per Lead Senior Vidal P., this is sufficient). <br />Provide photos of correction to inspector. <br />At the time this report is being typed, the photos of correction have been received via e-mail (1:29pm). Both the life hook <br />and th life ring are present at the pool enclosure. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at <br />minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br />rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. <br />(CCR 65540) <br /> #3 Safety Signs <br />OBSERVATIONS: The vegetation in front of the emergency signage (west fence) needs to be trimmed down. The <br />vegetation is prohibiting a clear view of the emergency signage. Correct ASAP. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained. (CCR 65535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible <br />letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar <br />permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified. (CBC 3120B) <br /> #8 Pool and Deck Lighting <br />OBSERVATIONS: The pool lights are not functioning (would not turn on at time of inspection). Ensure the pool lights are <br />functioning properly. Repair/replace ASAP. <br />If the pool lights (in their entirety) do not function, the pool must close at dusk and post a sign prohibiting swimming after <br />dark. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pools used at night shall be equipped with underwater light fixtures that provide complete illumination of the <br />pool. When a pool is used at night, pool deck and emergency egress areas shall be provided with lighting. If underwater or deck lighting is <br />not operational, the pool operator shall post a sign in 4-inch letters stating "NO USE OF POOL ALLOWED AFTER DARK" and shall <br />secure the pool area and not permit any use of the pool after dark.
