The company or individual's name that disposed of the waste. <br /> • The supervisor will call the fee collection booth and have the incident logged in <br /> the "Special Occurrence" log for the facility. <br /> 10.3. Large Quantity Medical Waste <br /> All large quantity incidents of untreated medical waste should be reported. <br /> • The load checker will immediately call and inform the Operations Manager, or his <br /> designee, of the incident. <br /> • If necessary the Operations Manager, or his designee, will call the appropriate <br /> Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) and CUPA and report the following information: <br /> 8. Date of release, <br /> 9. Time of release, <br /> 10.Location of release, <br /> 11.Type of material released, <br /> 12. How much/quantity of material released? <br /> 13.Were there any injuries or chemical exposures? <br /> 14.The medical waste generator that disposed of the medical waste. <br /> • The Operations Manager will call the fee collection booth and have the incident <br /> logged in the "Special Occurrence" log for the facility. <br /> 11. Waste Handling/Storage <br /> The Facility will store the materials found in the load check program within Title 22 <br /> compliant storage containers awaiting regular removal by an authorized HHW handler <br /> who is contracted to assure proper management and disposal of the materials. Typical <br /> materials recovered include latex and oil based paints, stains, shellacs, solvents, <br /> thinners, additives, adhesives, waxes, fuels, propane, motor oil and oil filters, anti- <br /> freeze, batteries, garden sprays, gopher bait, rat poisons, ant traps, fertilizers, spray <br /> cans, pool chemicals, photo chemicals, lead, mercury, bleach, household cleaners, <br /> fluorescent bulbs, TV's and computer monitors; and asbestos with special handling. <br /> Whenever the responsible party for the PW is not identifiable, the waste is pulled aside <br /> and stored in the hazardous waste storage area. The load check staff will inspect the <br /> storage facility weekly to ensure the storage facility is meeting the following <br /> requirements. <br /> 11.1. Identification/Categorization <br /> The hazardous waste storage and accumulation areas will be equipped with <br /> containers for the most common hazard classes as needed including poisons <br /> solids, poison liquids, corrosives-acids, corrosives-bases, oxidizers, flammable <br /> liquid, flammable aerosols, latex paint, and other unknowns. <br /> 15 <br />
