Procedure: Corporate Procurement <br /> • Corporate Procurement will run a monthly report listing all items that are currently identified <br /> as CA Hazardous Waste. This report will be titled the Caiffornia Hazardous Waste List <br /> (CHWL), run on or before the 5th day of each month and be distributed to the MFS CA <br /> locations. The report will include the following information for each item; Distribution <br /> Center name, Foodservice Item Number, Item Description, Vendor Name and Vendor Product <br /> Number. <br /> • Whenever a new customer is set up in the system, or if there is a major item addition by any <br /> current customer, a New Item List will be generated for review. <br /> • These New Item Lists will be sent to Risk Management/Safety or its' designated outside <br /> consultant for review and identification of all CHWL items. Once evaluation has been <br /> completed, the list will be returned to Procurement for consolidation into a master list of <br /> CHWL items to be maintained and distributed by Procurement to the CA Divisions. <br /> Hazardous Waste Handling - General Best Practices <br /> THINK-Safety Firsts <br /> • Know how to access Safety Data Sheets for all chemicals that you work with. <br /> • Always wear proper PPE when handling chemicals. <br /> • Know where your Eye Wash Stations and Fire Extinguishers are located. <br /> • Do not dump chemicals down the floor drains, storm water drains or dispose of in the <br /> dumpster. <br /> • Always keep waste containers sealed unless adding or removing wastes, <br /> • Know where your Spill Kits are located. <br /> • QUESTIONS-Always ask your Supervisor[ <br /> • THINK- Safety Firstl <br /> McLane Co.eonridentiat: For Internal Use Only Page 3 of 3 <br />
