<br /> <br /> Forward Landfill WMU FU-23 02300 21 EARTHWORK <br />EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR before liquidated damages are assessed. <br />The results of the survey shall be provided to the QA/QC CONSULTANT <br />for approval prior to placing the overlying materials. <br /> 3. A leak location test will be performed on the geomembrane before and after <br />placement of the granular drainage material and protective operations layer. <br /> The GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for <br />repairing all identified leaks in the geomembrane prior to placement of the <br />overlying earthwork and geosynthetic materials. The EARTHWORK <br />CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for repairing all identified leaks in the <br />geomembrane following placement of the overlying earthwork and <br />geosynthetic materials. The EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR shall remove <br />all earthwork and geosynthetic materials overlying the geomembrane to the <br />extent required to repair the leak and shall repair all identified leaks in the <br />geomembrane at his sole expense. Following the repair of the leak in the <br />geomembrane, the EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR shall replace all <br />earthwork and geosynthetic materials at his sole expense. All Work <br />performed to repair and replace materials shall be performed in accordance <br />with the applicable Specifications sections. <br /> <br /> B. Granular Drainage Material Placement: <br /> <br /> 1. The geomembrane lining underlying the GDM layer shall be inspected and <br />approved by the QA/QC CONSULTANT prior to placement of the GDM. <br /> 2. GDM shall be placed in a single continuous and approximately horizontal <br />lift unless otherwise specified or specifically permitted by the QA/QC <br />CONSULTANT. <br /> 3. Method of dumping and spreading materials shall ensure uniform <br />distribution of the material and prevent damage to the underlying <br />geomembrane lining. <br /> 4. Layer thickness shall be as shown on the Construction Drawings. Do not <br />operate placement equipment over the geomembrane lining with less than <br />12 inches of granular drainage materials in place.
