Stitch Count: Minimum 3, to maximum 7, stitches per inch. 4. Stitch Type: Double-thread chainstitch, Type 401, Federal Standard No. 751a. 5. Sewing Machines: Capable of penetrating four layers of geotextile. 6. Stitch Location: 2 inches, or more, if necessary, from geotextile edges to develop required seam strength. 3.3 REPAIRS A. Should the geotextile on the Geocomposite be damaged during any step of the installation, torn or punctured sections shall be repaired by placing a piece of geotextile which extends at least 2 feet in all directions beyond the damaged area. Geotextile repair patches shall be secured by sewing or bonding as approved by the QA/QC CONSULTANT. B. Repairs to the geonet shall be made by cutting a patch and joining using plastic ties. The patch must extend at least 2 feet in all directions beyond the damaged area. The geotextile shall then be repaired as required above. 3.4 CONSTRUCTION QUALITY CONTROL A. The QA/QC CONSULTANT shall enforce all requirements associated with the Geocomposite to ensure compliance with the CQA Manual. B. The QA/QC CONSULTANT may, at its discretion, perform destructive geotextile seam tests of the installed Geocomposite. 3.5 ACCEPTANCE A. GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR shall retain ownership and responsibility for Geocomposite until accepted by OWNER. B. OWNER will accept Geocomposite when all of the following conditions are met: 1. The installation is complete. 2. Required documentation is complete. 3. The QA/QC CONSULTANT’s final report is complete. 4. Verification of the adequacy of all seams and repairs, including associated testing, is completed. 5. Written certification documents have been received by the QA/QC CONSULTANT and OWNER.
