Mr. Todd Del Frate -2-
Second Semiannual and Annual 2022 Groundwater Report
The lysimeters were reported as dry or, at VZ-5, VZ-6, and VZ-7, had too little water to sample,
indicating no detectable leaks from the liner in those areas in second semiannual 2022. Unsaturated
zone monitoring will continue in accordance with the WDRs.
Results of leachate monitoring are consistent with past leachate monitoring events. The second
semiannual leachate monitoring event occurred on August 29, 2022. Twenty-five different VOCs were
reported in the leachate samples (many at trace concentrations). The highest VOC concentrations
reported at each sample point were naphthalene in L-1, acetone in L-3, and total xylenes in L-5.
The recent series of storms resulted in a storm water event on December 301h, 2022. Storm water
samples were collected per the industrial general permit.
I certify under penalty of perjury that I am familiar with the information submitted in this report, and to
the best of my knowledge the report is true, accurate, and complete.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (209) 953-7316.
Sincerely,

Mark Houghton, P.E.
Senior Engineer
N:\1North County\RWQCB\Groundwater Monitoring\2022 GW Reports\2nd Sem\To Aptim\012623 NC Cover Letter Final.dom
Enclosure
c:
Desi Reno, Integrated Waste Manager (letter only)
Natalia Subbotnikova, Environmental Health Department
