The soil gas
well installations and monitoring have been required by regulatory agencies overseeing
environmental conditions at the site associated with residual subsurface waste materials known
to exist in the vicinity. The purpose of the soil gas monitoring is to evaluate whether soil gas
contaminants, including methane or volatile organic compounds (VOCs), exist at concentrations
that would warrant protective measures to be implemented at the site. This Workplan presents
background information regarding the property and a description of the planned soil gas well
installation procedures and monitoring program. This Workplan will be submitted to the lead
oversight agency (the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department [SJCEHD]) for
review and approval prior to implementing the work.

A Vicinity Map showing the location of the subject property is presented as Plate 1. Plate 2 is a
Site Map showing the layout of the property, the planned building at the site, the proposed
locations for soil gas monitoring wells, and the location of an existing onsite soil gas monitoring
well to be abandoned. A detail drawing shown the planned configuration of the soil gas
monitoring wells is presented as Plate 3.
