15 May 2019
AGE Project No. 14-3002
soil boring location, depth, time, date and sampler's initials and then placed in a container
with sufficient ice.

Additionally, selected samples were collected using EnCore sampling devices, an EPA-
compliant method for sampling under EPA method 5035. After each EnCore sampling
device was used, the device was placed in an EnCore sealable bag, labeled and stored
in a container with sufficient ice.

Soil sample duplicates were extruded into plastic bags and field-screened for the
presence of organic vapors using an organic vapor meter (OVM), equipped with a photo-
ionization detector (PID). Additionally, the soil was visually classified in accordance with
the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS). PID readings and soil classifications were
recorded on boring logs, provided in Appendix D.

3.2. GRAB GROUNDWATER SAMPLE COLLECTION

Grab groundwater samples were collected from borings B1, B6, B13, B16, B18, B23, B28,
B31, B35 and B40; AGE assisted CVRWQCB staff with collecting the groundwater
sample from boring B18. Groundwater samples were collected between 10 and 15 feet
bsg in B1, B6, B13, B16 and B18; between 13 and 18 feet bsg in B28, B31, B35 and B40;
and between 15 and 20 feet bsg in B23. Groundwater samples were collected utilizing a
five-foot long, pre-cleaned, one-inch diameter, 0.020-slotted temporary well screen
inserted into the borings. Each groundwater sample was extracted using a peristaltic
pump and disposable ¼-inch Teflon tubing through the temporary well screen.

Sufficient sample was collected to fill four 40-ml EPA-approved volatile organic analysis
(VOA) vials with sample preservative, two 1-liter amber glass containers without
preservative, one 1-liter high-density polyethylene (HDPE) container without
preservative, one 125-milliliter (ml) HDPE container with preservative, one 250-ml amber
glass container with preservative and one 125-ml and 500-ml HDPE containers without
preservative. Additionally, groundwater samples from borings B13, B16, and B35 were
collected into one additional 1-liter amber glass sample container. Groundwater sample
containers were labeled with soil boring designation, date, time and samplers initials and
then placed in a container with sufficient ice.

3.3 LABORATORY ANALYSIS

Soil, waste and groundwater samples were transported under chain-of-custody to Alpha
Scientific Corporation (ASC) and McCampbell Analytical, Inc. (MAI; groundwater samples
only), both are California Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELAP)-
certified laboratories. Selected soil, waste and groundwater samples were analyzed for
the following selected constituents:
