PLANNED WORK ACTIVITIES <br />This SHSP covers the following designated site operations that will be performed by field personnel. <br />To excavate both laterally and vertically to remove debris and waste material at the Site and <br />characterize the waste off-site disposal or recycling. Additionally, fill soil or soil which may be <br />impacted with lead and will be sampled and analyzed to characterize if soil is impacted. <br />Once the waste material and any soil found to be impacted has been characterized as non-hazardous or <br />hazardous waste it will be removed from the Site and transported to appropriate off-site disposal <br />facilities. <br />4.1 Mobilization/Demobilization <br />Subcontractors will provide backhoe, excavator, loader, end dump truck and trailers if required for <br />excavating, loading and transportation equipment to be mobilization/demobilization. The sampling <br />equipment and materials will be provided by oversight personnel. <br />4.2 Air Monitoring <br />Field personnel will conduct air monitoring near the sampling areas using a PID. <br />4.3 Waste Material Sampling <br />Samples will be collected from the waste material/debris as appropriate. Samples will be labeled, and <br />placed on ice and transported to a State-certified laboratory for analysis. <br />4.4 Soil Sampling <br />Soil samples will be collected from the soil stockpiles following screening and separation from the <br />debris. Samples selected for chemical analysis will be labeled, and placed on ice and transported to a <br />State-certified laboratory for analysis. <br />4.5 Removal Action <br />The waste material/debris will be characterized as applicable and subsequently will be loaded for off- <br />site transportation to a licensed disposal or recycling facility. <br />The excavated soil from the excavation will be monitored and segregated as applicable, stockpiled and <br />once characterized will be loaded for off-site transportation to a licensed disposal or recycling facility or <br />remain on-site as fill. <br />Soil samples will be collected as warranted from stockpiled soil for profiling and disposal facility <br />selection. Samples will be labeled, placed on ice and transported to a state-certified laboratory for <br />analysis.
