The surface water monitoring locations are described in Table 2-3, below, and shown on Figure 1. Supplemental analyses are conducted every 5 years (Table 1). The 5-year analyses were conducted in May 2023, and the next 5-year analyses will be conducted in third quarter 2028. 2.4.2 Quarterly Results No discharges from the Forward or Austin Road Units into the adjacent creeks were observed during first quarter 2024. Water was observed to be flowing through both the South Fork or North Fork of Little John’s Creek upon initial monitoring on February 1 and January 22, 2024, respectively. Surface water samples were collected from the Forward and Austin Road Units. The results for the Forward Unit and Austin Road Unit monitoring points are presented in Table 12. Complete laboratory reports are provided in Appendix C. No VOCs were detected in the surface water samples collected from the Forward and Austin Road Unit monitoring points during first quarter 2024. Inorganic compounds occurred at similar concentrations in the upstream and downstream samples taken from the Forward and Austin Road Unit monitoring points. Inorganic compounds were consistently detected at concentrations less than applicable CLs, which were recalculated during fourth quarter 2022. Revised concentration limits will be provided in the 2024 Annual Monitoring Report, and again every two years thereafter. 2.5 Landfill Gas Monitoring This section describes the landfill gas (LFG) monitoring conducted at the Site during first quarter 2024 and the associate monitoring results. LFG monitoring included the LFG collection and control system, on-site structures, and perimeter gas probes.
