All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br />#4 Safety Equipment MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: No rope on life ring. Provide immediately. Pool is closed until reinspection or proof that the rope has <br />been provided to EHD. (jwong©sjcehd.com) This is a repeat. <br />VIOLATION DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at <br />minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br />rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. <br />(CCR 65540) <br />#7 Pool Deck <br />OBSERVATIONS: Pool deck has inch-wide cracks and dirt. Clean and grout cracks to prevent dirt and soil accumulation. <br />This is a repeat. <br />VIOLATION DESCRIPTION: An unobstructed 4-foot wide deck of concrete or like material shall be provided and maintained flush with the <br />top of the pool coping. Deck shall extend completely around the pool and shall further extend 4 feet on both sides and to the rear of any <br />diving board, ADA device, or slide. (CBC 31148) Pool operator shall keep the pool deck well maintained. (OCR 65535) <br />#10 Disinfectant Residual <br />OBSERVATIONS: Free chlorine at 18 ppm. Maintain between 2 to 10 ppm. <br />VIOLATION DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall <br />maintain the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with <br />cyanuric acid or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 <br />ppm free chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (OCR 65529) <br />#17 Cleanliness of Pool <br />OBSERVATIONS: Dirt on bottom of pool. Clean. This is a repeat. <br />VIOLATION DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain clean pool water while the pool is in use and shall not allow debris to <br />accumulate in the pool. Pool operator shall clean the bottom, sides, and other surfaces of the pool as often as necessary to keep pool <br />surfaces clean and free of slime and algae.
