t Hazardous Waste Handling and Prevention Hands-On Training Responsibilities: In this training, we will provide all employees within the maintenance department with information on California Materials Inc. Hazardous Communication Program, Spill and Discharge Policy, Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures, along with BMPs from the companies SWPPP program. This is to ensure all employees are well trained on all best measures when it comes to handling hazardous waste materials. Hazardous Communication requirements and responsibilities. Requirements: • California Materials provides a list of hazardous substances that are on-site. This inventory list can be obtained by reviewing the SDS. The SDS is located in the trailer shop, outside the Maintenance Manager’s office. The SDS is updated periodically when the site has added or subtracted materials. The most recent update was completed May 2024. • California Materials Hazardous Communication Program also holds the list of all the items that are located on-site. There are two lists; one for all Hazardous Chemicals, and one for only Proposition 65 Hazardous Chemicals. • Hazard Communication Administrator: Michelle Post • Administrator duties are to update SDS, Hazardous Chemicals List, and Prop 65 Chemicals list accordingly when hazardous materials are added and/or subtracted from site, perform monthly inspections to ensure all hazardous material container are properly labeled, dated, and handled properly AGGREGATES • TRUCKING As required by California’s Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) regulation (T8 CCR 5194), California Materials Inc. has developed a Hazard Communication Program designed to implement and maintain the health and safety of its employees when handling any hazardous materials. Along the lines of handling Hazardous Materials, California Materials Inc. established a Spill and Discharge Policy designed to control and contain accidental spills and/or discharge.
