t <br />Hazardous Waste Handling and Prevention Hands-On Training <br />Responsibilities: <br />In this training, we will provide all employees within the maintenance department <br />with information on California Materials Inc. Hazardous Communication Program, Spill and <br />Discharge Policy, Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures, along with BMPs from <br />the companies SWPPP program. This is to ensure all employees are well trained on all best <br />measures when it comes to handling hazardous waste materials. <br />Hazardous Communication requirements and responsibilities. <br />Requirements: <br />• California Materials provides a list of hazardous substances that are on-site. <br />This inventory list can be obtained by reviewing the SDS. The SDS is located <br />in the trailer shop, outside the Maintenance Manager’s office. The SDS is <br />updated periodically when the site has added or subtracted materials. The <br />most recent update was completed May 2024. <br />• California Materials Hazardous Communication Program also holds the list <br />of all the items that are located on-site. There are two lists; one for all <br />Hazardous Chemicals, and one for only Proposition 65 Hazardous <br />Chemicals. <br />• Hazard Communication Administrator: Michelle Post <br />• Administrator duties are to update SDS, Hazardous Chemicals List, and Prop <br />65 Chemicals list accordingly when hazardous materials are added and/or <br />subtracted from site, perform monthly inspections to ensure all hazardous <br />material container are properly labeled, dated, and handled properly <br />AGGREGATES • TRUCKING <br />As required by California’s Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) regulation (T8 CCR <br />5194), California Materials Inc. has developed a Hazard Communication Program designed <br />to implement and maintain the health and safety of its employees when handling any <br />hazardous materials. Along the lines of handling Hazardous Materials, California Materials <br />Inc. established a Spill and Discharge Policy designed to control and contain accidental <br />spills and/or discharge.
