All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. VIOLATIONS AND CORRECTIVE ACTIONS #1 Pool Gates OBSERVATIONS: The pool entrance gate does not have a latch. Install a latch so that pool gate is self-closing and latches. Close pool area until the corrections are made and verified by this department. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Gates and doors leading into the pool area shall be equipped with self-closing self-latching devices. Self-latching devices shall be designed to keep the gate or door securely closed. Gates and doors shall open outward from the pool area except where otherwise prohibited by law. (CBC 3119B) Pool operator shall keep gates and doors leading into the pool area well maintained. (CCR 65535) This is (Major) Violation. MAJOR #2 Pool Enclosure OBSERVATIONS: One of the rails near the entrance is missing leaving a large gap. Repair fence so that there are no gaps greater than 4 inches. Correct today. Close pool area until the corrections are made and verified by this department. (REPEAT) CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool area shall be enclosed by one or more of the following: a fence, portion of a building, wall, or other approved durable enclosure. Pool enclosure shall be constructed over a hard permanent material equivalent to concrete and shall be installed no more than 2 inches above the finished grade. Holes, gaps, or openings in the enclosure shall not allow the passage of a 4-inch diameter sphere. Doors, openable windows, or gates of living quarters shall not be permitted as part of the pool enclosure. (CBC 3119B) Pool operator shall keep the pool enclosure well maintained. (CCR 65535) Pool enclosure shall have a minimum effective perpendicular height of 5 feet and shall be constructed so that it cannot be climbed by small children. Horizontal members shall be spaced at least 48 inches apart. No planters or other climbable structures shall be permitted within 5 feet of the pool enclosure or within a 5-foot arc. Chain link openings shall not be larger than 1 3/4 inches when measured horizontally. Pool enclosures with a height of 4 or more feet are allowed if the enclosure was constructed prior to July 1994. (CBC 3119B) This is (Major) Violation. MAJOR #10 Disinfectant Residual OBSERVATIONS: Free chlorine is below 2 ppm. Adjust to 2 ppm to 10 ppm. Close pool until the corrections are made and verified by this department. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) This is (Major) Violation.
