The area around the container was stained with used oil. It appears <br />that the container may have overflowed at some point or the release was not properly cleaned up. <br />REGULATION GUIDANCE: A hazardous waste generator must maintain and operate its facility to <br />minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or any unplanned sudden or non-sudden release of <br />hazardous waste or hazardous waste constituents to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten <br />human health or the environment. <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately fix the leak and properly clean the area, then dispose of the used <br />oil. Manage the waste according to Title 22 California Code of Regulations for hazardous waste. Submit <br />a statement and supporting documentation to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br />Department describing the storage and final disposition of the cleaned up waste. <br />Resolution The container is utilized when Cold Storage Group drains oil from the refrigeration system. The contents <br />has been disposed of and replaced with water. <br />Photos
