Lovelace MRF and Transfer Station Department of Public Works/Solid Waste Division
Transfer Processing Report 4 County of San Joaquin
September 16, 2024
1.6.5 Parking
Separate parking areas are available at the LTS (Figure 2). One parking area is provided for
personal vehicles, such as those used by employees and visitors. Disabled and van accessible
spaces are provided. The second parking area is for transfer trailers and heavy equipment.

1.7 ADJACENT LAND USE
Land use within 1,000 feet of the LTS includes agricultural uses: vineyards and nut groves to the
north, west and east. The nearest residence is located on a large agricultural parcel within 300
feet from the facility.

1.8 AREA CLIMATOLOGY
The mean annual rainfall for the area is approximately 16 inches, received between October and
April, with January typically the wettest month. Summer temperatures typically range between
53 and 92 deg Fahrenheit (F). Winter temperatures range between 35 and 53 deg F, rarely
dropping below freezing.

In addition, waste and material unloading is conducted inside the Transfer Station and/or under
cover which prevents litter migration from wind and contact with storm water.

1.9 SUPERVISION AND PERSONNEL
The operator maintains adequate numbers of qualified personnel to ensure the proper operation
of the station. Personnel are cross-trained to provide coverage in the event that an employee is
unavailable for work. The LTS staff responsible for the day to day operation of the facility is listed
below:
