HSC 118285 -Sharps waste shall be containerized and stored pursuant to this section. <br /> OBSERVATIONS: <br /> 1. The sharps container under the counter in Suite C (see PHOTO 1), in the"Mixing Room" (see PHOTO 5) and in the"Infusion <br /> Room" (see PHOTO 6)were not properly labeled. <br /> 2. The sharps waste container located in the"Infusion Room" contained mixed waste (see PHOTO 7). <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: <br /> 1. Sharps containers shall be labeled with the words"Sharps Waste" or BIOHAZARD". Provide photographic evidence of <br /> correction to the EHD. <br /> 2. Train staff on proper waste segregation. Provide evidence of training to the EHD. <br /> Correct all violations and provide evidence of corrections to the EHD <br /> by December 15, 2023. <br /> Notes: <br /> 1. Inspection report emailed to Office Manager, Sheila Sexton-Desersa at ssexton(cDshomg.net. <br /> 2. Tracking records were reviewed online. <br /> 3. The medical waste hauler for the facility is Barnett Medical Services. <br /> 4. Medical waste is generated, contained and handled in Suites C and M. The accumulation room is located in Suite C. <br /> 5. The facility generates biohazardous waste, chemotherapy waste, pharmaceutical waste and sharps waste. <br /> 6. The inspection was conducted with the Office Manager, Sheila Sexton-Desersa, and the Lab Manager, Sally Solanki. <br /> Reinspecion on/about: A reinspection fee of$162 per hour may be charged.
