Groundwater Well Installation Work Plan Sharpe Army Depot Lathrop, California activities may prevent disposal at the South Balloon GWTP.As required for offsite disposal, liquid IDW will be sampled and characterized to determine appropriate disposal by applicable laws and regulations. A disposal facility will be identified following characterization. Solid non-hazardous waste(e.g.,disposable personal protective equipment and sampling equipment)will be wiped clean of visible contamination and disposed of in a municipal waste receptacle. Ahtna will coordinate with the Presidio of Monterey DPW-E to sign the required waste manifests. A copy of the signed manifests will be provided to the DPW-E. 3.4 Field Documentation and Photographic Record Ahtna will maintain field documentation sufficient to recreate field activities. The following information will be recorded: • Location • Date and time • Identity of people performing an activity • Weather conditions • Logs of observations and activities conducted • Sample identification numbers and chain of custody numbers Field measurements and calibration results (including numerical values, units, and instrument identity) are recorded in a field log form (Appendix B). During the construction of each extraction well, as-built diagrams of each well will be prepared by the Field Geologist (Appendix B). 3.5 Schedule Well-installation activities for onsite wells (EWC6, EWC7, MW549C,and MW550C) and offsite monitoring wells (MW551B, MW551C, and MW552C) are anticipated to begin in the fourth quarter of 2023. A schedule for offsite extraction wells (EWC8, EWC9, and EWCC7) installation activities cannot be anticipated at this time as the Army will need to first negotiate access agreements with the UPRR. 4.0 Quality Control and Quality Assurance Quality Control (QC) encompasses the actions that control the attributes of the material,sample, process, component,system,or facility in accordance with predetermined quality requirements.The QC inspection system used by Ahtna personnel for installing groundwater wells is based on three phases of QC for each definable feature of work: the preparatory phase,the initial phase, and the follow-up phase. During the preparatory phase, the work necessary to initiate the activity is checked before fieldwork begins.The phase is conducted in a meeting format during the daily pre-work health and safety meeting. Participants include onsite Ahtna personnel, the USACE representative, and onsite drilling personnel. During the meeting, information regarding the schedule, procurement, and the status of the related construction activity are shared and discussed.
