Aquifer Testing Standard Operating Procedure <br /> SWE-FSOP-500,•Revision 0 Ahtna Southwest Environmental Operations <br /> 3.0 Equipment and Materials List <br /> Multiple types of equipment can be used to complete aquifer testing.The correct equipment to use should <br /> be determined by the PL-based onsite conditions and analyses to be performed. <br /> Materials used during aquifer testing must not absorb, desorb, or leach contaminants of concern. The <br /> materials used must be resistant to chemical and biological degradation. <br /> Downhole Well Equipment <br /> • Slugging Rod <br /> • Bailer <br /> • Bladder Pump and associated controller <br /> • Peristaltic Pump <br /> • Submersible Pump <br /> • Electronic water level meter such as the Solinst Model 101 or equivalent <br /> • Pressure transducers <br /> [PFAS Projects]: Surfaces in contact with well internal components or groundwater (e.g., <br /> bailers) should not contain Teflon° or other PFAS-containing material. <br /> Other Equipment/Supplies <br /> • Decontamination equipment including soap (i.e., LiquinoxT"), de-ionized and tap water <br /> • Waterproof, indelible pens/markers in black or blue ink <br /> [PFAS Project]: Use ball-point pens. Do not use markers, felt pens, or pens with water- <br /> resistant ink. <br /> • Field logbook <br /> [PFAS Project]: Field logbook made of standard/loose plain paper(non-weatherproof), held <br /> together by an aluminum or Masonite field clipboard.Alternatively, a spiral-bound <br /> notebook with non-weatherproof paper and cover can be used. <br /> • Field forms <br /> [PFAS Project]: Record of field events will be maintained on loose paper (PFAS-free) secured <br /> on Masonite or aluminum clipboards. Plastic clipboards, binders, or spiral hard-cover <br /> notebooks are not acceptable. Field logbooks are permanently assigned to a specific project. <br /> • Graduated cylinder for checking flow rates <br /> • Health and safety equipment, including safety glasses and nitrile/latex exam gloves as specified <br /> in the project Health and Safety Plan <br /> • IDW Labels <br /> • Meter calibration standards <br /> • Multimeter with flow-through-cell or cup <br /> • Paper towels <br /> • Purge water storage (drums,tanks, etc.) <br /> Page 7 of 17 <br />
