Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan <br />The Home Depot Store #5857 <br />7 Emergency Response Equipment <br />Fire extinguishers are located next to the HHM CSA and throughout the Site (Figure 2). The fire extinguishers <br />can be used by properly trained associates to put out small, incipient stage fires'. The building is also equipped <br />with a sprinkler system. <br />Spill kits and eye wash stations are located throughout the building. The location of each spill kit and eye wash <br />station are identified on Figure 2. Each spill kit is equipped with a broom/dustpan, eye protection, absorbent <br />materials, plastic bags, non -hazardous cleaning solution, shovel, and nitrile gloves. Site associates use the PA <br />system, cell phones, or two-way radios to communicate with each other during emergencies. <br />Emergency response equipment is inspected on a monthly basis. These inspections include the quantity and <br />operational condition of response equipment. Table 7-1 contains a list of emergency equipment at the Site, a <br />physical description of each item, and a brief outline of each equipment's capabilities. <br />Table 7-1 Emergency Equipment List <br />• Absorbent materials to clean up liquid spills and leaks. <br />• Trash bags to dispose of used absorbent materials and <br />Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). <br />Spill Response HHM CSA; 0 Empty drums to dispose of waste generated at the Site. <br />Equipment (Spill Throughout 0 Mild cleaner (not for personnel hand washing) to clean affected <br />Kits) Building areas, as needed. <br />• Broom, dust pan and shovel to pick up spilled material. <br />• Permanent markers are used to fill out labels and immediately <br />identify waste streams. <br />Fire HHM CSA; Class ABC fire extinguishers are located at the HHMA CSA and <br />Extinguishers Throughout throughout the building on the outside wall near most fire exits <br />Building and interior support beams. <br />Fire Alarm Pull HHM CSA; The fire alarm pull box provides a means to alert personnel of a <br />Box Throughout fire or emergency. <br />Building <br />HHM CSA; <br />Sprinkler System Throughout The wet sprinkler system provides fire suppression for the entire <br />Building building and is fed via the public water line. <br />' Incipient stage fire: Initial or beginning stages of a fire that can be controlled or extinguished by portable fire <br />extinguishers, class II standpipe or small hose systems without the need for protective clothing or breathing <br />apparatus (29 CFR 1910.155(c)(26)). <br />12 <br />
