Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan <br />The Home Depot Store #5857 <br />3E will be notified by the Emergency Coordinator, or designee. Any immediate, verbal notifications will be made to <br />regulatory agencies by 3E. Subsequent written reports will be prepared and submitted by The Home Depot Store <br />Support Canter. Verbal reporting and notification requirements are described in the following subsections. <br />9. 3.1 Internal Reporting Requirements <br />The person discovering the spill or incident first notifies the Emergency Coordinator, or another designated <br />associate. The Emergency Coordinator will provide necessary guidance and/or actions to address the incident <br />and determine if the Asset Protection Senior Managers, other Home Depot management, or 3E must be notified. <br />9.3.2 External Reporting Requirements <br />If the Emergency Coordinator determines that the Site has experienced a release, fire, or explosion which could <br />threaten human health or the environment outside the Site, the Emergency Coordinator or their designee must <br />immediately call 911 to report the incident and notify local emergency response, and call 3E. 3E will then contact: <br />• TCEQ Emergency Phone Number (refer to Table 3-2) <br />• The National Response Center (NRC), if applicable <br />Per 40 CFR 262.265 Part (d)(2), the emergency coordinator will immediately notify either the government official <br />designated as the on -scene coordinator for that geographical area, or the National Response Center (using their <br />24-hour toll free number 800/424-8802). The report will include the following information: <br />• Name and telephone number of reporter; <br />• Name and address of facility; <br />• Time and type of incident (e.g., release, fire); <br />• Name and quantity of material(s) involved, to the extent known; <br />• The extent of injuries, if any; and <br />• The possible hazards to human health, or the environment, outside the facility. <br />DA Evacuation <br />If directed by the Emergency Coordinator to begin evacuation, associates will evacuate using the designated <br />routes. In the event of an evacuation the emergency coordinator will sound the horn, followed by an <br />announcement over the PA system. Associates will then exit the building following the evacuation routes and <br />assemble at the designated meeting area. Customers, suppliers, vendors, and any other individuals will be <br />alerted to evacuate the building using the nearest safe exit. <br />9.5 Termination and Follow -Up Actions <br />Once the incident is fully under control, the Emergency Coordinator will follow appropriate clean-up and disposal <br />measures provided by the HHM Program or by 3E, direct appropriate clean-up and disposal measures, or <br />contract an emergency response crew through 3E to do so. The Emergency Coordinator, following instructions of <br />the HHM Program or 3E, must also provide for storing, or disposing of recovered waste, contaminated soil or <br />surface water, or any other material that results from a release, fire, or explosion at the Site. <br />16 <br />
