January 23, 2026
Page 2
At each boring location, a Roux geologist, engineer, or scientist will continuously log soil using the Unified
Soil Classification System (USCS) under the oversight of a California Professional Geologist or Engineer.
Additionally, soils will be screened with a photoionization detector(PID)and readings will be recorded on
boring logs.
The grab groundwater samples will be collected where water is encountered using either a peristaltic
pump, or a bailer, as necessary. The collected grab-groundwater samples will be sealed, labeled, logged
on a chain of custody form, placed on ice, and transported to a California-certified laboratory for analysis
of the following, on standard turnaround time (TAT):
• Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by U.S. Environmental Protect Agency (EPA) Method
826013;
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g), and TPH as diesel and motor oil (TPH-
d/-mo) by EPA Method 8015/8015B; and
• Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) by EPA Method 8270C (or equivalent).
After groundwater sampling activities are complete, the two borings will be backfilled with neat cement
grout placed from the bottom of the borehole to ground surface using a tremie pipe.
DISPOSAL METHODS
Investigation derived waste from the drilling activities will be temporarily stored in properly labelled 55-gallon
drums. Investigation derived waste samples will be collected from the drums for waste profiling, and will be
analyzed for the following:
• VOCs and TPH-g by EPA Method 826013;
• TPH-d,-mo by EPA Method 8015M; and
• California Assessment Manual (CAM) 17 Metals by EPA Method 6010 (or equivalent).
Following waste profiling, the waste will be transported to an appropriate disposal facility by a licensed
transporter in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Attachment
Attachment A.
