Geosyntec O <br /> consultants <br /> 5.2 Task Descriptions <br /> Task 1: Groundwater Sampling and Gauging <br /> Collect groundwater samples from existing wells at the Site. Gauge water levels at the <br /> existing wells. <br /> Task 2: Well Maintenance <br /> Wells will be maintained as needed throughout Rough and Ready Island. Well <br /> maintenance will include repair and replacement of well boxes as well as <br /> implementing well protection measures, including marking, signage, and installing t- <br /> posts. Wells will also be re-surveyed by a subcontractor. <br /> Task 3: Well Installation, Development, and Destruction <br /> New wells will be installed using hollow stem auger drilling methods. They will then <br /> be developed through a combination of surging,bailing, and purging. <br /> Wells will be destroyed, as needed,by overdrilling using hollow stem auger drilling <br /> methods. All investigative-derived waste (IDW) generated will be removed off-site <br /> and disposed of by American Integrated Services of Wilmington, California(AIS) <br /> Task Hazard Analyses (THAs) associated with these tasks are presented in Appendix B. <br /> 5.3 Chemical Hazards <br /> The classes of chemicals that are known or suspected to be present that may be encountered while <br /> performing site work include the following: <br /> • Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX) <br /> • Chlorinated volatile organic compounds (VOCs) <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbon(TPH) <br /> • Pesticides, herbicides, and/or rodenticides <br /> • Metals (including naturally occurring arsenic, barium, mercury, and lead) <br /> Port of Stockton HASP A-1 05.01.2025 <br />
