<br />Preliminary Closure and Postclosure Maintenance Plan 2-11 Department of Public Works/Solid Waste <br />North County Recycling Center and Sanitary Landfill County of San Joaquin <br /> <br />Section 21820(a) requires cost estimates meeting the following criteria: <br />1. Cost estimates for closure when most expensive to do so <br />2. Cost estimates for the design, materials, equipment, labor, administration, and <br />quality assurance for closure <br />3. Cost estimate contingency of 20 percent <br />These criteria are applied to the 185 acres of the landfill, closed when fill is complete. Partial <br />final closure projects will be completed as part of normal landfill operations in coordination with <br />extension of the lined areas. <br />The closure cost estimate is based on applicable elements in the cost template established by <br />CalRecycle. Cost of closure includes those items expected to be included in the final closure <br />project assuming that the landfill is closed in a single project. Activities included in development <br />of the lined areas are not included. <br />The estimated closure cost for the final closure of the landfill footprint is provided in Table 2. <br />This estimate is based on third party contractor construction services.
