<br />Preliminary Closure and Postclosure Maintenance Plan 3-6 Department of Public Works/Solid Waste <br />North County Recycling Center and Sanitary Landfill County of San Joaquin <br /> <br />The estimated postclosure cost of the 185-acre landfill is estimated to be $670,000 per year, or <br />a total of approximately $20.1 million for the 30-year postclosure period (Table 3). <br />3.5 Financial Assurance <br />The County is the owner and operator of the landfill and as such, retains the responsibility for <br />closure and postclosure maintenance. <br />Closure costs are assured by a Closure Enterprise Fund. San Joaquin County submits, on a <br />yearly basis, a letter to the regulatory agencies that includes current dollars in its Closure/ <br />Postclosure Fund. Postclosure costs are assured by a Pledge of Revenue ( Appendix A).
