R5-2010-0016 -26- <br />SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />NORTH COUNTY LANDFILL <br />SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> <br /> <br />LCRS ¾-foot gravel drain layer <br />60-mil HDPE3 Base Liner GCL4 <br />Foundation Layer ≥ 1’ compacted subgrade ≥ 1/2’ <br />____________________________ <br />1. 8 oz/yd2 non-woven fabric. <br />2. Consists of geonet with overlying and underlying filter fabric. <br />3. Textured on both sides. <br />4. Shall exhibit appropriate strength characteristics (hydrated) to accommodate <br />stresses associated with specific landfill design parameters, with particular attention <br />to interface, long-term creep, shear, and bearing capacity. <br /> <br />2. Lateral expansions of the existing Unit (i.e., new modules) shall be constructed <br />in accordance with the following LCRS design: <br />a. Foundation layer - graded at 2.2% cross slope toward collection sump. <br />b. Blanket layer – <br />1) ≥ ¾-foot thick layer of rounded gravel over base liner <br />2) Geocomposite (or equivalent combination of geonet and filter fabric) <br />over slide slopes. <br />c. French drain – perforated HDPE pipes installed in gravel filled troughs <br />above the base liner, including the following: <br />1) 4-inch diameter laterals installed at 1% minimum slope. Laterals shall <br />be equipped pipe risers at each end for inspection and cleaning, if <br />necessary, and a wire rope to enable video camera inspection of the <br />lines. <br />2) 6-inch diameter header pipe at a minimum 2% slope. <br />d. Collection Sump – The collection sump shall be constructed as follows, <br />from top to bottom: <br />Component Specification <br />Gravel Sump gravel <br />Volume Tank1 <br />Pump Automatic with high and low <br />alarms, flow meter <br />Filter Fabric Geotextile2 <br />Primary Composite Liner 60-mil HDPE/GCL <br />Secondary LCRS3 Geonet
