Wear long sleeve shirt, rubber boots with steel toes, rubber <br />gloves and googles. Review SDS for concrete prior to task. <br />2. Use sunblock to protect skin from sunburn/UV Damage. <br />3. If concrete is being pumped never stand directly in front of <br />hose, ensure hose end is tot aimed toward people or property, <br />maintain upright body posture. <br />3. Use upright body posture and firm grip on wheel barrow if <br />used. During large pours take periodic breaks and rotate staff in <br />and out to prevent injuries. This is considered an Administrative <br />control. <br />4. Visually scan areas for hazards, watch where you walk, be <br />aware of uneven terrain and wet slippery surfaces. Maintain a <br />clear pathway to pour areas. <br />6. Drink Plenty of water, take shade breaks regularly throughout <br />the during hot or humid weather or when not fully acclimated to <br />increasing temperatures, watch for signs of heat stress in <br />yourself and others. When finishing concrete while standing upright within the <br />pour area, wear rubber boots with steel toes and maintain solid <br />footing atop rebar. Watch where you walk, work at a safe pace, <br />do not take backward steps. <br />2. Do not lift lift more than 50 lbs. without using the "buddy <br />system" or mechanical means, ask for help when moving <br />equipment or objects that may be awkward, do not work in a <br />bent or crouched position for extended periods of time without <br />taking breaks.
