Set-up Equipment - Pressurized cylinders, lines, or equipment <br />- Sprains and Strains <br />- Sunshine (UV radiation) <br />- Traffic hazard <br />- Uneven Terrain <br />- Heat Stress <br />- Ultraviolet (UV) <br />1. Place tanks upright, chained securely in a cart on level ground. Securely <br />tighten valves, do not place hoses where the could become damaged. <br />2. Do not lift more than 50 lbs without usng the buddy system or mechanical <br />means, manual lift with your legs not your back, keep a firm grip, hold load <br />close to your body, Stop if load is too heavy or akward. <br />3. Apply Sunblock to exposed skin with a product containing SPF50 or greater. <br />4. Do not turn your back toward traffic, maintain eye contact with drivers, use <br />a vehicle as a barrier in high traffic areas, always use a spotter when setting up <br />in traffic areas. <br />5. Visually scan work areas, be aware of uneven ground, lift your feet when <br />walking, wear boots with adequate tread, do not take backward steps. <br />6. Drink plenty of water (8-12 ounces per hour), take regular shade breaks, <br />inside job trailer or the air conditioned cab of a vehicle. Stop work immediately <br />to inform your Supervisor if you begin feeling faint or dizzy. <br />7.
