<br />42 <br /> <br /> <br />KEY ACRONYMS USED <br /> <br />• TWA = OSHA Time Weighted Average permissible exposure limit; represents the maximum allowable 8-hr. time weighted average (TWA) exposure concentration. <br /> <br />• C = OSHA ceiling concentration must not be exceeded during any part of the workday; if instantaneous monitoring is not feasible, the ceiling must be assessed as a 15-minute TWA exposure. <br /> <br />• STEL = OSHA Short-term Exposure Limit; represents the maximum allowable 15-minute TWA exposure concentration. <br /> <br />• TLV-STEL = ACGIH Short-term Exposure Limit; represents the maximum recommended 15-minute TWA exposure concentration. <br /> <br />• C = OSHA Ceiling Limit; represents the maximum exposure concentration above which an employee shall not be exposed during any period w ithout respiratory protection. <br /> <br />• IDLH = Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health; represents the concentration at which one could be exposed for 30 minutes wi thout experiencing escape-impairing or irreversible health effects. <br /> <br />• ( ) = ACGIH TLV Intended Change. <br /> <br />• SKIN = Indicates a significant contribution of the total exposure by the cutaneous route. <br /> <br />• WARNING = Represents the lowest concentration detectable in each population.
