<br />57 <br /> <br />9.2.4 OTHER CONTROLLED AREAS <br />Other work areas may need to be controlled due to an uncontrolled hazard, warning workers of <br />requirements, or preventing unauthorized entry. Examples include general construction work <br />areas, open excavations, high-noise areas, vehicle access areas, and similar activities or limited <br />access locations. As necessary, these areas shall be demarcated with physical barriers (fencing, <br />cones, reinforced caution tape, or rope) and posted with appropriate signage. <br /> <br />9.3 DUST CONTROL <br />The soil will be pre-watered to mitigate dust before excavation. Reduced drop heights will be <br />implemented when direct loading of excavated soil. All stockpiles shall be covered with weighted, <br />durable polyethylene sheeting. Work will cease if dust monitoring action levels are exceeded. <br /> <br />9.4 VISITOR ACCESS <br />The ICS Superintendent will be responsible for assigning personnel the task of maintaining a <br />visitor log with the following information : <br /> <br />• Personnel visiting the work area, <br />• Affiliation, <br />• Date, <br />• Arrival time, <br />• Departure time, <br />• Purpose of visit. <br /> <br />9.5 IMPORT SOIL /EXPORT AND TRUCKING CONTROL <br /> <br />In addition to any third-party documentation requirements and control measures, at the SSO’s <br />discretion, ICS will require a manifest for each truck that has entered the job site to properly <br />control trucking pathways and document the ingress and egress of trucks and materials. <br /> <br />At the SSO’s discretion, any truck arriving at the location will be notified of manifest <br />requirements, and any car leaving the location must have been issued a manifest at the last port <br />or station before egress. If trucks are loaded in only one location and must stop at multiple <br />locations, then the final location and only the final location shall log out the trucks and provide a <br />manifest. <br />
