58

9.6 CONTROL OF SOIL WITH VARYING LEVELS OF CONTAMINATION
All excavated soil that is not immediately loaded for export shall be stockpiled so that soils with
different contamination levels can be identified and loaded separately.

It is permissible to have a primary stockpile for all loads with contamination levels below action
levels and separate stockpiles for loads with contamination levels above action levels. This
allows for the shipping of the above-action-level loads separately for specialized handling and
disposal.

9.7 SMOKING
Smoking is only allowed in designated areas that have been pre-approved and deemed safe.
Smoking areas must also be identified with proper signage, equipped with a fire extinguisher
and safety ashtray, and free of potential fuel sources. Some additional guidance is as follows.
• Smoking is NOT permitted on-site or away from designated areas. Many project sites we
work at have weeds, dead grass, trash, and other items that could be a potential fuel
source.
• ICS Equipment Operators are NOT permitted to smoke while operating machines, during
refueling, and inside the cab. This policy applies to our subcontractors as well. For
example, subcontracted truck drivers who wish to smoke must wait until they’ve
departed from the project site before lighting their cigarettes.
• This policy also applies to electronic cigarettes and vaporizers.
• Smoking in company vehicles is NOT permitted.
