Foothill Landfill
Monitoring Implementation Plan

MIP Page 21
5.0 Evaluation of MIP Results
After all of the elements of the MIP are implemented, the results, observations, and analyses
will be evaluated throughout the year to determine if the SWPPP and MIP are being
implemented properly and effectively. Sample results are evaluated immediately upon receipt
of the results by the environmental coordinator or his designee. The discharger shall submit
all samples and analytical results for all individual samples via SMARTS within 30 days of
obtaining all results for each sampling event. The analytical laboratory has been instructed to
email a copy of the analytical results to both the facility and to the storm water program
coordinator or his designee and then mail an original set to the San Joaquin County contact.
Storm water quality benchmark values for most analyses have been determined by the USEPA
and the State of California. (See Appendix B for the NALs). If the analytical results indicate
that there are any pollutants present in the storm water in significant quantities, the facility
personnel will make all attempts to determine the source of the pollutants, appropriate steps
will be taken to minimize any further contamination of the storm water, and BMPs will be
developed to manage the storm water and its discharges. Any actions taken or BMPs
implemented as a result of the evaluation of the analytical results and or other observations
documented in Form 1 through Form 3, will be recorded in the storm water corrective action
record, included in a future revision of the SWPPP, and included in the annual report. All
necessary evaluations and reports as stated in the General Permit will be completed and
submitted to the water board via SMARTS (Section XII of the General Permit).
