However, in response to the public
comment, it is determined that additional investigation be conducted to further confirm any presence of vapor
intrusion into the adjoining residential dwellings for site closure.
In the Work Plan, BLEW proposed the advancement of seven (7) soil borings to a total-depth of approximately
five (5) feet below surface grade (bgs) to collect soil vapor samples to assess potential vapor intrusion into
the adjoining residential dwellings located along the northern and eastern site boundaries. Based on a review
of the Work Plan, Condor concurs with the proposed additional investigation is adequate to evaluate potential
off-site vapor encroachment risks to nearby sensitive receptors as presented in the Report.
Therefore, the EHD requests that the proposed work be conducted in accordance with Condor's Memo and
the Work Plan. Please be sure that the required Site Mitigation Well and Boring permits are obtained and
approved by the EHD prior to initiating field activities. To obtain the most current information for permitting
forms and fees, please email ehsitemitigation(c),slgov.org.
Following completion of sampling activities, please ensure that all temporary soil vapor wells are destroyed
pursuant to EHD's Well Standards. Please note the EHD's preferred method of destroying the soil vapor
probes are to remove all contents prior to grouting.
Upon receipt of analytical results, please submit a revised Site Characterization and Closure Report
incorporating the updated risk evaluation to pursue site closure. The EHD requests that all analytical data of
the investigation by ESL onto Geotracker website.
