2 of 2 <br />Environmental Health Department <br />5. Individuals installing underground storage tank system components must possess or work <br />under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically present at the work site <br />who possesses all of the following: <br />a. A valid, current contractor’s license issued by the Contractors State License Board <br />b. A valid, current UST Installation/Retrofitting certificate issued by the International Code <br />Council (ICC) <br />c. A valid, current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s) of the component(s) <br />being installed <br />6. Individuals working under the direct supervision of a qualified UST installer or UST service <br />technician must, at a minimum, be employed by the person with the CSLB license and possess <br />all manufacturer certificates of training for the equipment on which they are working. <br />7. The tank owner or operator shall log into the California Environmental Reporting System <br />(CERS) at http://cers.calepa.ca.gov/ and ensure all UST information is current. <br />8. All components must be certified by an independent testing organization and labeled as <br />required by the organization (UL, ULC, ANSI, API, ASTM, etc.). See California Code of <br />Regulations (CCR) Title 23, Chapter 16, Table B for a complete list. <br />9. Permit expires 180 days from the date of approval. If an extension to the expiration date is <br />required, a written request must be submitted to ust@sjgov.org prior to the expiration date. <br />10. Failure to comply with the listed conditions may result in additional fees or violations. <br />11. Additional inspections may be conducted by the EHD.
