CITY OF LATHROP <br /> 1 SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> 1.1 General <br /> 1.1.1 Engineer <br /> The Engineer for the project is Luhdorff and Scalmanini, Consulting Engineers,500 First Street,Woodland, <br /> California 95695 (Contact: Eddy Teasdale, PG., at (530) 345-5993). The Engineer will act as the City of <br /> Lathrop's (City) agent as well as serving as a technical advisor and inspector during drilling and well <br /> construction activities. During the Work,the Engineer may advise the City as to the quality or acceptability <br /> of materials furnished and work performed and as to the manner of performance and rate of progress of <br /> the Work. In addition,the Engineer may advise the City on questions which arise as to the interpretation <br /> of the Plans and Technical Provisions, questions as to the acceptable fulfillment of the contract on the <br /> part of the Contractor, and questions as to measurement and payment. <br /> 1.1.2 Termination and Alternative Well <br /> The City reserves the right to terminate the work on the well at any time. In such an event,the <br /> Contractor shall be paid for work completed at that time in accordance with the prices state on the BID <br /> FORM.The City reserves the right to select an alternate site to replace an abandoned test hole or well. <br /> 1.1.3 Preliminary Test Hole and Monitoring Well Design <br /> Final quantities for test hole drilling and well construction will be based on actual conditions encountered <br /> during the drilling.The Work described in the Plans and Technical Provisions reflects the City's preliminary <br /> design and may be modified in response to actual subsurface conditions revealed through the drilling <br /> operations. <br /> 1.1.4 Permits and Notifications <br /> 1.The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining the necessary permits to perform the contract <br /> Work. All permits shall be posted on the drilling rig prior to the start of drilling operations. <br /> 2.The permitting agency is: <br /> San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department <br /> Well Systems Program <br /> 1868 East Hazelton Avenue <br /> Stockton, CA 95205 <br /> Phone: (209)468-3420 <br /> 3.
