CITY OF LATHROP <br /> 2.All hazardous material shall be stored and used in a safe manner and shall not be stored <br /> or used in any vehicular or pedestrian traffic lanes. <br /> 3. Any hazardous products, waste or empty containers used or generated shall not be <br /> poured down any drain or sewer nor disposed of in any trash container or dumpster. <br /> 4. The Contractor will be considered to be the hazardous waste generator and will be <br /> responsible for the legal transport and disposal of all hazardous waste. No containers or <br /> trash will be left in any building or on any job site. <br /> 5. Violation of any of the above methods shall be sufficient cause for the City to stop all <br /> work. Any expense incurred by the City caused by the work stoppage will be borne by the <br /> Contractor. These expenses will include all costs to return the job site and all other areas <br /> contaminated by the Contractor to a hazard-free condition. <br /> 6.The Contractor will be solely responsible for all the costs, including fines and penalties, <br /> for the investigation and cleanup of any suspected hazardous materials the Contractor <br /> used,left on thejob site,or disposed through a municipal drain or sewer,and any damage <br /> to property and/or injury to any person. <br /> 1.1.8 Construction Inspection <br /> The work specified in the Technical Provisions will be inspected by the City, or City's agent, at various <br /> stages of the construction. <br /> 1.1.9 Site Security <br /> The Contractor shall provide suitable means of protecting the borehole(s) from the entrance of foreign <br /> objects at all times for the duration of the contract. The Contractor will provide portable fencing <br /> surrounding the site. <br /> 1.1.10 Water for Drilling <br /> The Contractor is responsible for delivering the water to the drilling site from the assigned water source. <br /> Water source for drilling operations will be made available by the City at a fire hydrant located on the job <br /> site. <br /> 1.1.11 Nuisance Water, Development Water, and Drill Cuttings <br /> A. Nuisance Water -- Nuisance water, such as rainfall or surface runoff, may occur at the well <br /> sites during the period of construction under this contract. The Contractor shall at all times <br /> protect the Work from damage by such waters and shall take all due measures to prevent delays <br /> in progress of the Work caused by such waters.
