Although it was recommended by
the Board to contact the owners of the neighboring parcel northeast of the Site, no records of a
domestic well for this parcel was provided upon a records request with the San Joaquin
Environmental Health Department (EHD) dated October 31, 2022, according to the Senior Office
Assistant, Shannon Ballwahn. One bore hole permit was obtained from EHD (Permit No.:
SR0064901) reporting water encountered at 7 feet below ground surface on May 10, 2012. As
discussed in the CSM, the groundwater flow direction is anticipated to be coincident with
topography,to the west-southwest.
As discussed in Section 3.2.1 the residential houses in the area import water from a Public Water
System that is transported to the community. Petralogix has draft a letter to the neighbors located
within the area requesting access to their wells (if applicable) to test the groundwater for
contamination of pesticides. This letter is available for review in Appendix C. The letter will be
mailed certified. If there is a positive response from a nearby resident, a domestic or agricultural
water sample will be acquired and tested for OCPs.
Because there is no access to groundwater at the Site, one (1) grab groundwater sample from the
co-located soil boring 131 on Plate 3 is proposed for the Site. The sample bore hole will be
advanced with a decontaminated hand auger, direct-push drill rig, or Geoprobe direct push rig, until
groundwater is encountered, anticipated at approximately 10 to 20 feet bgs. A temporary well
consisting of 1/2-inch or 1-inch slotted well casing will be placed in the hole and a groundwater
sample will be obtained using a new disposable bailer. Prior to groundwater sampling the static
water level will be measured.
Petralogix Engineering,Inc.
26675 Bruella Road,Galt,Ca 95632
(209)-400-5729
www.petralogix.com
