Site Health and Safety Officer(SHSO) <br /> The SHSO has the full responsibility and authority to develop and implement this HASP, and to verify <br /> compliance with it. The SHSO reports to the PM. The SHSO is on Site during all work operations and has <br /> the authority to halt Site work if unsafe conditions are detected or revealed. The specific responsibilities of <br /> the SHSO include: <br /> • Managing the safety and health functions on the Site; <br /> • Serving as the Site's point of contact for safety and health matters; <br /> • Ensuring Site monitoring, worker training, and effective selection and use of personal protective <br /> equipment (PPE); <br /> • Assessing Site conditions for unsafe acts and conditions, and providing corrective action; <br /> • Assisting in the preparation and review of this HASP; <br /> • Maintaining effective safety and health records as described in this HASP; and <br /> • Coordinating with the SS and others as necessary for Site safety and health efforts. <br /> Site Supervisor(SS) <br /> The SS is responsible for field operations and reports to the PM. The SS ensures the implementation of the <br /> HASP requirements and procedures in the field. The specific responsibilities of the SS include: <br /> • Executing the work plan and schedule as detailed by the PM; <br /> • Coordination with the SHSO on matters of safety and health; and <br /> • Ensuring Site work compliance with the requirements of this HASP. <br /> Employees <br /> All Roux employees are responsible for reading and following all provisions of the Corporate Health and <br /> Safety Manual, including this HASP. Employees report to the SS at the project Site. Each employee is also <br /> responsible for the following: <br /> • Wearing all appropriate PPE as outlined within this HASP; <br /> • Attending all safety meetings; <br /> • Inspecting tools and equipment prior to use, and taking any defective tools or equipment out of <br /> service; <br /> • Appropriately documenting field events as they occur within a logbook or equivalent; <br /> • Properly operating machinery and/or equipment only if trained to do so; <br /> • Stopping work operations if unsafe conditions exist; <br /> • Identifying and mitigating hazards when observed; <br /> • Reporting all incidents and near misses to the Roux SHSO and SS immediately; and <br /> • Knowing where emergency equipment is located (e.g. first aid kit, fire extinguisher). <br /> Subcontractors and Visitors <br /> Subcontractors and visitors are responsible for complying with the same health and safety requirements.
