Obtain an installation permit for the engineered residential onsite wastewater treatment <br /> system (OWTS) from EHD. Inspection is required before backfilling of OWTS excavations. <br /> Request inspection 24 hours in advance by calling the inspection line (209) 953-7697. (SJC <br /> OWTS Standard Section 2) <br /> 5. It is the owner's responsibility to follow the operation and maintenance plan to ensure the <br /> system meets all requirements set forth in the design in conformity with San Joaquin County <br /> (OWTS) Standard. Below are the main points listed in the Operations and Maintenance Plan <br /> described in the report: <br /> a. The septic tank should be inspected every three (3) years and pumped if the inspection <br /> warrants pumping, the d-box should also be inspected at three (3) year intervals to ensure <br /> equal distribution of effluent going to the two perforated lateral lines. <br /> b. All food waste, which includes the fats, oils, and grease (FOGs), needs to be handled as <br /> solid waste and disposed of into the garbage. The report states that there should not be <br /> a garbage disposal in the kitchen sink. <br /> c.
