AECOM <br /> • Grounding and bonding procedures. <br /> • Client specific requirements <br /> 4.3 General Requirements <br /> 4.3.1 The AECOM Manager or supervisor and employees shall perform a walk-thru of the work site and/ <br /> or review of the work area/travel route to identify the overhead electric power lines and any other <br /> overhead obstructions that could be impacted by the work. Consider high profile equipment, <br /> equipment in transport, swing radius of equipment, potential for shifting loads, etc.AECOM <br /> personnel may be accompanied by other applicable personnel (e.g. client representatives, <br /> contractors operating concurrently, etc.). <br /> 4.3.2 The location or project specific SH&E Plan shall identify all overhead line hazards and provide <br /> suitable methods of elimination or control.All involved or affected workers shall review the SH&E <br /> Plan to confirm proper communication of the overhead line hazards and awareness of the control <br /> measures associated with their work. <br /> 4.3.3 Assess applicable factors such as, but not limited to: <br /> • Scope of work(e.g. hoisting materials, excavation, grubbing, etc.). <br /> • Transportation route. <br /> • Hoisting, excavating, or other equipment to be operated. <br /> • Height, placement, and reach of equipment. <br /> • Equipment or material loading/unloading. <br /> • Location(s)of electric power lines, communication lines, guy wires, etc. <br /> • Worker training and experience. <br /> • Soil or ground condition and environmental conditions. <br /> • Interruptions to electrical services. <br /> • Hazard to public. <br /> • Use of ladders. <br /> • Pipe and other conducting materials. <br /> • Notification of electric utility owner. <br /> • Changing conditions. <br /> • Communication of all hazards to all workers including contractors, sub-contractors, and <br /> concurrent operations. <br /> 4.3.4 Task Hazards Assessments(THAs)shall be completed to record the hazards and control <br /> measures specific to the task, including those related to overhead line and obstructions hazards, <br /> prior to undertaking assigned tasks. THAs shall be reviewed and signed by all workers involved in <br /> the specific task. <br /> 4.3.5 Should adverse weather conditions cause the work associated with overhead lines to be unsafe, <br /> the activities shall be discontinued. <br /> 4.3.6 Managers or designated employees shall formally notify all concurrent operations, or any others <br /> who may not have had reason to review and sign the related SH&E Plan or THAs, of work that is to <br /> be done in the vicinity of overhead lines at distances less than 50 feet(15.25 meters), and for non- <br /> electrical obstructions, at distances less than 10 feet(3.05 meters)if appropriate to the <br /> obstruction's potential hazards, and obtain the operator's assistance in protecting workers involved. <br /> Overhead Lines&Obstructions(S3AM-322-PR1) <br /> Revision 3 July 31,2019 <br /> PRINTED COPIES ARE UNCONTROLLED.
