AECOM <br /> 4.6.5 The HAZWOPER standard does not prohibit AECOM Employees from performing limited response <br /> activities. <br /> • Appropriately trained AECOM Employees can provide voluntary First Aid services; <br /> • AECOM Employees can provide response assistance by placing absorbent pillows or <br /> vermiculite around a small, contained spill that occurs during sampling efforts; <br /> • Refer to Spill Response, Incidental procedures contained herein which describes the specific <br /> procedures that AECOM will follow when responding to an incidental chemical spill. <br /> 4.6.6 Field Project Preparation <br /> • Every SH&E Plan that is prepared by AECOM will contain a Location Specific Emergency <br /> Response Plan in which the required elements of an emergency action plan will be addressed. <br /> Refer to S3AM-010-PR1 Emergency Response Planning; <br /> • When AECOM is working at an operating facility, the emergency response procedures of the <br /> facility will be appended to the SH&E Plan or the Location Specific Emergency Response Plan; <br /> • As a minimum, each emergency response plan shall contain the following topics as required <br /> by 29 CFR 1910.38(a): <br /> o Procedures and contact information for reporting emergencies to public service <br /> responders and on-site (client or host employer)emergency control centers; <br /> o Pre-emergency planning and coordination with outside parties; <br /> o Emergency escape procedures and emergency escape route assignments; <br /> o Procedures to be followed by employees who remain to operate critical site operations <br /> before they evacuate; <br /> o Procedures to account for all employees after emergency evacuation is complete; <br /> o Rescue and medical duties for those employees who are trained to perform them; <br /> o Preferred means of reporting fires and other emergencies; <br /> o PPE to protect employees from expected exposures and potential exposures during an <br /> emergency; <br /> o Names of persons or departments who can be contacted for further information (i.e. <br /> emergency reference sheet); <br /> o Site security and control; <br /> o Availability of medical surveillance for workers who might have been exposed to <br /> chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, or other biological agents as a result of project work or <br /> emergency response; <br /> o Emergency medical treatment and first aid; <br /> o Emergency alerting and response procedures; <br /> o Critique of response and follow-up. <br /> • In addition, each plan shall establish the specific alarm system that will be used on site to warn <br /> employees of an AECOM emergency. The chosen alarm signals should not conflict with alarm <br /> signals already in place at the facility. <br /> 4.6.7 Client Facility Emergency Response Procedures <br /> • AECOM implements field programs on active properties, including manufacturing facilities. <br /> These facilities have typically developed an emergency response plan that is specific to <br /> facility-related emergencies.
