A=COM <br /> drilling tools on the rig may reduce the ability of the rig to remain upright(raises the center of mass <br /> of the rig). <br /> 4.21.11 Logs, ditches, road curbs, and other long and horizontal obstacles should be approached and <br /> driven over squarely, not at an angle. <br /> 4.21.12 When close lateral or overhead clearance is encountered, or when backing up, the driver of the rig <br /> shall be guided by another person on the ground. <br /> 4.21.13 Loads on the drill rig and truck shall be properly stored while the truck is moving, and the mast shall <br /> be in the fully lowered position. <br /> 4.22 Loading and Unloading <br /> 4.22.1 Consult applicable manufacturer's recommendations for loading and unloading of the equipment. <br /> 4.22.2 Use ramps of adequate design that are solid and substantial enough to bear the weight of the rig <br /> with carrier, including tools. <br /> 4.22.3 Load and unload on level ground. <br /> 4.22.4 Use the assistance of someone on the ground as a guide. <br /> 4.22.5 Check the brakes on the rig carrier before approaching loading ramps. <br /> 4.22.6 Distribute the weight of the rig, carrier, and tools on the trailer so that the center of weight is <br /> approximately on the centerline of the trailer and so that some of the trailer load is transferred to <br /> the height of the pulling vehicle.
