A4OM
• If groundwater is deep enough (i.e., greater than 7 feet bgs), the borehole will be
completed as a shallow soil vapor probe in accordance with Soil Gas Bore Installation
SOP-500 Section 4.3, following groundwater sampling.
• If groundwater samples cannot be collected via direct push probe rods, then temporary
PVC well screens will be used.
o Well screens will be 6 to 60 inches in length;
o In low hydraulic conductivity zones a 48 inch screen will be used.
• Well purging will not be conducted for grab groundwater sampling.
• Groundwater samples will be collected with a bailer.
• Decontaminate equipment using the 3-step method.
• Gather equipment and samples and place on work vehicle. Secure all equipment on
truck bed or store inside work vehicle.
• Review sampling log for completeness. Complete chain-of-custody documentation.
• Groundwater samples will be stored in properly chilled coolers and delivered to an
ELAP-certified laboratory.
