The tasks that will be performed
are listed below.AECOM will conduct a Phase I ESA and a Phase II for each site.
AECOM will contract a private utility locator to assess and avoid any underground utilities present within 10 ft of the boring
locations.AECOM will contract a California-licensed driller(i.e., Cascade Drilling)for the drilling and installation of semi-
permanent soil vapor monitoring wells. Boring advancement will be conducted via hand auger(First 5 ft)and then continued with
the direct-push technology(DPT)/Hollow-stem auger(HAS)rig until the field geologist determines an appropriate screen interval
and terminal depth.
An AECOM geologist will supervise the advancement of the soil borings. The continuous soil cores will be logged according to
the American Society for Testing and Materials International (ASTM)Visual-Manual Procedure D2488 and the Unified Soil
Classification System. Photoionization detector(PID)readings will be taken every 5 feet. Soil descriptions will include the
following: moisture content, color, grain size(most abundant to least abundant), angularity, other pertinent textural or
mineralogical properties, and visual and/or olfactory indications of impact. Soil descriptions will be used to assess Site-specific
geologic and hydrogeologic properties. The well design will be up to California Monitoring Well Standards Bulletin 74-90(i.e.,the
Bulletin).
Groundwater grab samples will be collected where groundwater is encountered in the borings. Groundwater grab samples will
be collected using a bailer through a temporary groundwater well screen or the drilling equipment.
©AECOM Restricted
Universal Heath and Safety Plan Template(S4(DSC)AM-209-FM-C) 2
Revision 12 September 9,2021
PRINTED COPIES ARE UNCONTROLLED.CONTROLLED COPY IS AVAILABLE ON COMPANY INTRANET.
